Kia Ora and welcome to Character Kidz!

We’re Gursant and Jitender, the proud new owners of Character Kidz, the home of New Zealand made cultural kids costumes. We are dedicated to crafting cultural kids’ costumes designed specifically for educational purposes and to crafting costumes that not only entertain but also serve as valuable tools for cultural awareness and values.

Our high quality kids costumes are hand made in our home country New Zealand and mostly designed by Beatrice Galway (the Company Founder), who was an award-winning designer with a long career designing women’s wear.

All the styles have been, and will continue to be meticulously designed, crafted to help our young learners become more acquainted with their own culture, as well as the cultures of their peers.
We believe that fostering this understanding from a young age promotes empathy, respect, and appreciation for diversity.

We understand the importance of supporting and honoring the rich cultural heritage of the Māori people, and we are committed to ensuring that our products reflect this. Additionally, we treat the diverse ethnic backgrounds of all New Zealanders in our costumes.

We look forward to the opportunity to contribute to the cultural education and development of the young minds in Our community.

    Character Kidz created 35 Kapa Haka uniforms for our school in early 2019. The attention to Detail and finish of these uniforms was consistently of a very high standard. We were able to talk about our needs, negotiate sizes and now we have a set of kappa Haka uniforms that all our students can wear with pride. This has raised the children’s attitudes, expectations and performance to a very high level. The children have performed at our school events , in community events and festivals with much more mana.
